CENTENARY LEGACY

VEGUÍN DE MURUA GRAN RESERVA

The grapes for Veguín de Murua wine have been selected from very old vines, some of them almost a hundred years old, located at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño, in the best estates of Murua Wineries. This particularity limits production to 2,500 kg/ha. The bunches are hand-picked by professionals who remove defective or unripe fruit. Then, in the winery itself, the process is completed with a new selection on a conveyor belt.

Veguín de Murua Gran Reserva is only made in exceptional years and in limited editions.

CENTENARY LEGACY

VEGUÍN DE MURUA GRAN RESERVA

The grapes reserved for making the Veguín de Murua wine are selected from very old vines, some of them almost centenarian, lying at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria mountain range, in the best plots owned by Murua Wineries. This particular feature restricts the yield to 2,500 Kg/Ha. The grapes are harvested by hand by professionals who discard any flawed or unripe bunches. Then, at the winery itself, the selection process is completed with a second sorting on conveyor belt.

Veguín de Murua Gran Reserva is only made in exceptional years and in limited editions.

Coupage: Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo

TRADITION

MURUA RESERVA

Murua Reserva is an age-worthy wine whose production is based on offering the best evolution of the combination of tertiary aromas and the broad range of aromas offered by our Rioja Alavesa parcels. Murua Reserva is a long, complex wine resulting from patient, painstaking work, respectful to the environment and to the La Rioja winemaking tradition.

It is made from tempranillo, graciano and mazuelo grapes, with controlled-temperature fermentation and regular maceration monitoring. The malolactic fermentation and decantation are carried out in French and American oak barrels.

INSPIRATION

A DIFFERENT BLANCO

THE FRESHNESS OF THE EARTH

MURUA BLANCO FERMENTADO EN BARRICA

Made from autochthonous grape varieties including viura, malvasía and white garnacha harvested from vines between 40 and 80 eighty years old, tended in exactly the same way as has been the traditional custom in Elciego and the rest of the Rioja Alavesa region.

It is a white wine with character and age-worthy potential. The three varieties are fermented for 15 days in new barrels made from French and American oak, to achieve a good balance between the grape aromas and oak notes, while preserving the full freshness of Rioja Alavesa wines and volume in the mouth. After fermenting, the wine is aged on its lees in the same barrels for 7 months.
